Fresh City Website Offers Quick Access

Concept of webpage

The redesigned City of Sioux Center website will offer a more inviting, easy-to-use, and accessible hub of city information for all users.

The new site launches Wednesday afternoon, March 22. City staff recently completed work on the redesign, guided by analytics and public insight. The most visited information is featured front and center. A “News & Events” section keeps visitors informed. Fresh images and the bright design give visitors an engaging overview of Sioux Center.

The City website receives more than 125,000 visits per year. It is a connection point for local residents and a hub for information for people from across the nation looking to know more about Sioux Center.  About half the visits are from people outside of Sioux Center, and more than 50,000 are from outside of Iowa.

“Keeping the Sioux Center website, app and social media up to date in design and function helps us to more efficiently and effectively engage with and be responsive to both residents and potential visitors to our community,” said Dean Gabhart, City webmaster and Centre Mall Manager.

Roughly half of people accessing the website by phone or mobile devices, so the redesign features a mobile-friendly structure to add to its ease of use. The website also connects with the free Sioux Center App, which offers a community calendar, hours for public swim and skate, a business directory, and individual utility use and bill pay.

The redesign came at no added cost through the city’s website service provider.

Feedback, comments and analytics helped shape the redesign, and citizen input is still welcome to help improve the website. To quickly share feedback, click the “Let Us Know” button on the City website, email info@siouxcenter.org, or call the City Office at (712) 722-0761.
