Sioux Center City Manager Scott Wynja has been elected to serve on the executive board for the Iowa League of Cities, which includes more than 870 member cities in Iowa. He was elected to a 2-year term by member city representatives.
“It is an honor to serve as a Director on the Iowa League of Cities Board,” Wynja said. “This is a great opportunity to have an active voice for Sioux Center and to continue to create and maintain numerous connections around the state and with legislators at the State Capital.”
The Iowa League of Cities is a collaborative resource for Iowa municipalities, providing advocacy, training, and guidance to improve local government in Iowa’s communities. The League was formed in 1898.
As a board member, Wynja will continue to advocate for cities in Iowa and work to strengthen local government across the state.
Wynja has served as Sioux Center’s city manager since 2016 and previously served as the Sheldon city manager for 14 years. He has served in various capacities including on the Iowa City/County Managers Association Board, the Iowa Municipalities Workers’ Compensation Association Board, as the NW Iowa Regional Coordinator, Sioux County Regional Airport Board, the Joint Use Committee in Sioux Center, and the Sioux Center Chamber of Commerce Executive Board.
