Enjoy a cruise around Sioux Center to view the city flower beds in full bloom, and end with a sweet treat!
The Sioux Center Parks Department is offering the first ever free flower bed tour on Tuesday, July 14, from 6-8 p.m.
The tour starts at Children’s Park, at 840 4th Ave. SE. People can pick up a map there and follow the route to see many of the 20+ flower beds packed with color.
People of all ages can enjoy the tour and experience the growing beauty of Sioux Center. There will be information and parks staff available to answer questions and share about different varieties. The tour will end with a sweet treat.
Jamie Dolieslager has led the planning, planting and maintaining of the flower beds in Sioux Center for many years. Her contribution has helped the flower beds maintain their beauty and unique style for the whole city to enjoy.
“The people that came before me instilled in me that the small things matter in setting the tone for our community, and I’m passionate about that,” Dolieslager said. “The little things are what put the special touch on what our community is, they make our community beautiful. We get a lot of good feedback from the community, and we try to keep doing those little things to reflect who we are here.”
