Sioux Center’s new adventure waterpark was given one of the highest honors in the state for tourism as part of the Iowa Tourism Awards.

Siouxnami Waterpark, which features Iowa’s only aquatic zipline, a lazy river with a wave feature, a variety of waterslides, and an aquatic climbing wall, was named 2020 Outstanding Attraction at the Iowa Tourism Conference in Des Moines this week.

The city-owned waterpark was one of two entities receiving the Outstanding Attraction honor, which recognizes originality in design, creativity in overcoming challenges, innovation in marketing, and measurable impact on community and state tourism.

“It is great to see the Siouxnami Waterpark recognized by the Iowa Tourism Office as an outstanding attraction,” said Sioux Center City Manager Scott Wynja. “We are excited about the impact this facility has made not only for the community of Sioux Center, but to the regional area as well. It is our hope and plan that the waterpark continues to be the destination for fun for all ages.”

The Iowa Tourism Awards are presented by the Iowa Tourism Office and Travel Federation of Iowa, honoring Iowa’s most outstanding tourism organizations and individuals. Siouxnami was named top winner in the Outstanding Attraction category for cities with a population of 10,000 or less.

In the award presentation, Siouxnami Waterpark was acclaimed as a “bold move from the start” and recognized for drawing people from across the region with features and prices that fit every age and budget. The waterpark is part of the All Seasons Center complex in Sioux Center.

“We wanted to keep it affordable so people and families could come here to have fun and grow together as friends and family,” said All Seasons Center director Dave Ruter. “We can’t wait to see you this summer!”

Siouxnami Waterpark, which enjoyed its inaugural season last summer, will open for 2020 at the end of May. For more information, visit
