Absentee ballots will be available as of Monday, October 8, 2018 for voters who plan to be absent for the upcoming General Election to be held on November 6, 2018.
Requests are now being accepted for absentee ballots to be mailed out for the 2018 General Election, according to Sioux County Election Administrator Lisa Rowenhorst.
A qualified voter may submit a request for an absentee ballot in writing on an Iowa Official Absentee request form. You may download the form here or find it on the Iowa Secretary of State's page. Each voter must use a separate form.
The deadline to request a ballot to be mailed out is 5:00 p.m., Saturday, October 27, 2018.
A qualified voter may come to the Courthouse in Orange City to personally cast his or her vote. This may be done beginning Monday, October 8, 2018 up through the day before the election.
For absentee voting purposes, the Courthouse will be open:
Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The last day to early vote a ballot at the Courthouse is Monday, November 5, 2018.
All ballots returned through the mail must be postmarked before Election Day.
