Fifty new residential lots are opening up along the southeast side of The Ridge Golf Course in Sioux Center.
The Sioux Center City Council approved the final plat of the new residential addition, which includes 50 lots on about 25 acres, with lots ranging in size from 14,000-22,000 square feet.
“The need for residential lots continues to be a primary focus for our community,” said Sioux Center Development Director Dennis Dokter. “The original South Ridge addition is almost full, and this new addition will meet the demands for quality housing in the short term and in years to come. This development has been a great asset to our community.”
Work has already begun to install sanitary sewer to this new South Ridge Estates residential area. Work to extend Ridge Road, the main road to these lots, will begin in mid-2018.
The area is zoned Mixed Use/Planned Unit Development, which will allow for single-family homes with a few lots zoned for duplex properties.
The area is being developed by Sioux Center Land Development, a private group of several hundred shareholders with the mission of fostering economic growth through industrial, commercial and residential development. SCLD previously developed 115 residential lots on the north side of the golf course, most of which have been sold.
