The weather outside is cold and dreary, so grab a book and a blanket and participate in our Winter Reading Challenge this year! The more you read, the better your chances to win the grand prize! We will have a teen grand prize winner and an adult grand prize winner.
This year, the Winter Reading Program will take place January 17 at 9:00am and ends February 28 at 11:59pm, and will be on Beanstack. The program is open to anyone in 5th grade - adults. If you need help setting up your Beanstack account, please call the library at (712) 722-2138. Happy reading!
Thematic program using books, songs, and rhymes to assist the parent/caregiver in reading to their child. Activities support the development of language skills, listening skills, and word awareness for the purpose of encouraging a lifelong interest in reading. Activities and crafts are designed for children ages 3-6, but siblings of all ages are welcome to attend.
Do you want to learn some basic Spanish? Then this is the class for you! We'll meet each week for two months to develop some basic Spanish skills, focusing heavily on practical, conversational Spanish. The classes will frequently include conversations with native Spanish speakers from the community. No prior Spanish knowledge is required as this class is targeting beginners.
This class is for adults and requires registration.
