SIOUX CENTER, IOWA

Sioux Center, a community of over 6,300 people has grown 176% in population since 1960. Ideally located in Sioux County in northwest Iowa on U.S. Highway 75 and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad's main line, only 35 miles from I-29 and I-90, midway between Sioux City, Iowa and Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Sioux Center's growth and modernization has been steady through the years. Paved streets, underground electric and telephone, fiber optic cable, well-kept homes, beautiful trees and flowers make Sioux Center a clean and attractive city.

The people of Sioux Center are friendly, charitable, cooperative, community-minded and very productive. Our community is comprised of people who like the better things of life, people who like to live and educate their children in a wholesome Christian environment.

We are proud of our community and welcome you to be a part of it.

The Ingredients of Steady GROWTH & PROGRESS

  • A fully developed 80 acre Industrial Park, competitive rates, excellent rail service, availability of rural labor, and easy access to the Interstate Highway System makes Sioux Center an ideal location for expanding business and industry.
  • Many fine business and professional services make Sioux Center the business hub of the surrounding farm population. The 100,000 square foot enclosed Centre Mall provides additional retail services to our area. Area information services include KSOU-AM and FM, and KDCR-FM radio, The Sioux Center News, and the Sioux Center Shopper.
  • Sioux Center's roots are in agriculture, and today still supports the surrounding rural population with such ag-related businesses as Tri-State Livestock Auction, Farmers Coop Society with their grain storage facilities and rail-loading capabilities, and Sioux Preme Pack (hog processing), as well as many other businesses which supply equipment, feeds and services.

Sioux Center's commitment to agriculture remains high and looks to the future with cutting-edge businesses like Trans-Ova Genetics and Boehringer Ingelheim /NOBL and  forward thinking programs like Dordt College's Agriculture Stewardship Center.

  • Sioux Center has a mayor/council/city manager form of government and an eleven member planning and zoning commission. The citizens of Sioux Center and the surrounding rural area unite through a progressive attitude which encourages growth.
