Plans for a new restaurant and an expanded rebuild of a convenience store in Sioux Center are underway.
This week, the Sioux Center City Council approved development agreements with 4 Brothers Bar & Grill and Casey’s General Store for their planned projects.
Work is already taking place at the 4 Brothers Bar & Grill site, which is just west of the Holiday Inn Express and Terrace View Event Center. Anticipated opening is in March 2018.
“Having a fine dining option in Sioux Center is something people have been asking about and we’ve been working on for a long time. We are excited to work with 4 Brothers as they bring their passion for creating a great dining experience here to Sioux Center,” said Sioux Center Community Development Director Dennis Dokter.
The planned new Casey’s General Store will have a much larger footprint than the existing Casey’s at the corner of Main Avenue and 7th Street NE.
“This project will bring a needed update to one of Sioux Center’s busiest intersections. The new Casey’s General Store will have an impact aesthetically as well as economically, and it will offer improved access for customers and travelers,” Dokter said.
The city’s development agreement for the 4 Brothers project involves a partial tax rebate for several years following construction. The development agreement for the Casey’s project involves a forgivable loan for a portion of the demolition costs to prepare the site for the new construction. The loan is forgivable after the store has operated five years following completion.
