New Indoor Recreation Facility Study to Begin

Local leaders are looking into the idea of a new indoor multi-purpose recreation building for Sioux Center.

“As community continues to grow and we talk about the need for adding streets and having lots available for development to support this growth, we are also seeing indoor recreation space as a need,” said City Manager Scott Wynja.

The Sioux Center City Council gave approval to begin a feasibility study for the use and design of a multi-purpose recreational facility.

A design firm will look into the potential use of such a facility, the amount of space needed, and a cost model to help determine the feasibility of this idea.

“We believe recreational space is an essential part of the great quality of life in Sioux Center, and, as our community grows, we want to continue to provide great places and opportunities for our residents and visitors to be active and have fun,” Wynja said.
